We wish you a very warm welcome to  Retro Bar Eaterie & Art Gallery, La cala’s  newest restaurant and really hope you enjoy your  dining experience with us.

El Retro is the collaboration of top chef on the coast for over 20 years Nigel Mellors, most notably known for his time as Head Chef at Silks, Marbella. Nigel is joined by husband & wife team Jayne & Dave Baldwin, who for the past 5 years have made a name for  themselves at Vista Del Mar, Playa Miraflores. A fantastic ‘blend’ of  Culinary expertise, Front of house and marketing, all with the one aim of making your visit a memorable and pleasurable one, . 

Set in Butibamba, La Cala ,  Retro is a fine dining restaurant that blends modern culinary techniques with traditional foods. Our "retro” menus are designed to evoke memories of the past. Don’t be surprised to see our fine dining interpretation of classic dishes such as  ; prawn cocktail; Steak Diane: Lobster Thermador : Scampi Provencale : Rumbaba : Black  Forest Gateau : Knickerbocker Glory and Banana Split, along with regular favourites!

Dine ‘Al Fresco’ on our terrace or inside our elegant dining hall, all in a relaxing environment aimed at your enjoyment. Dress code is smart & casual.

Sunday’s would be devoted to Our Sunday Carvery, with Live entertainment, which has proved extremely popular in our tenure at Playa Miraflores. It would run from 1 till 6PM, with Live music 2 till 5PM

Our Art Gallery  is in collaboration with Monte Carlo, Los Jarales,  and is a collection of  ‘Retro’ prints from a bygone era, aimed at invoking ‘good and happy memories’ from days which were maybe a bit less ‘complicated’ than today’s troubled times. How can you not forget the old London Route Master Buses, Red Telephone Boxes, 1966 World cup winners, Super groups such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin , Hendrix and more………………...all evoking happy days (Fonz!!|)

The team would be looking to develop our functions and special events programme for 2012, to include weddings, anniversaries, office parties, whatever! Our own Spit Roast  machine would be utilised, along with Live Entertainment especially during the summer months.

The team feel strongly, that  our plans have the quality of thought,  strength  of character and ‘difference’ to make our restaurant THE PLACE to be in La Cala! Our database of ‘followers’ is growing daily ……….

Our plan of mirroring  and building upon our success of recent years will hold us in great shape to move forward in our ‘ new home’ in La cala!!
