About Us
(Vista del Mar, The fruition of a dream by husband and wife team, Dave and Jayne Baldwin, has come about purely by chance......Dave was committed to moving to Spain some 3 years ago, but a near fatal motorcycle accident in June 2004, put that on hold.
Badly smashed up, both Dave and Jayne spent many weeks here in the Costa where the weather was 'kinder' in the treatment of many 'broken bones'. They both fell in love with the Spanish Dream, the climate, the freshness of the food and have made in those years, some really good friends here. So much so that they never felt they were going on holiday, more visiting friends.)
Well, that was a while ago and the dream became a reality on the 1st of April, 2007, when Vista del Mar opened for business. It really is a beautiful spot that has a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. You can let your mind drift with the sound of the sea, feel the warm sunshine, enjoy relaxing days, catch a waft of fine cooking from the wonderful selection of fine local produce being prepared in the kitchen and listen to their enormous collection of ambient music. Using the finest of traditional ingredients, the creation of fine cuisine coupled with a selection of fine wines, the aim is to create an atmosphere that you will never forget. They are very child friendly, there is a safe play area for the little ones, with the option for bouncy castles to keep the young ones entertained.
 That was a year ago . Jayne and Dave now enter their second year (April 1st) at Vista Del Mar Restaurant, Beachside Miraflores. The view is still as spectacular as it was...........The Restaurant has undergone some cosmetic changes (Paintwork mainly), but the BIG difference is the STAGE, LIGHTING RIG and BABY GRAND PIANO.
The Management structure is different this year also. Jayne and Dave are now being guided by Garry Waite, who has guided El Oceano Hotel in it's early days and now amongst his 'charges' is Lonestar Brasserie , Portside Puert Banus.
Under Garry's guidance to date, we now have a New Chef, Michael (From Lonestar) and a themed business plan. Currently we are to open from Wednesday through Saturday 12 till Late.
Music is the theme Fridays and Saturday's, with Jens on our Baby Grand entertaining guests on a Friday evening, complimented by a 3 course set menu untill 11.30.
Saturday is CABARET Night, where each Saturday a Live Cabaret Act will entertain diners, again with a 3 course set meal for €30.00. The night finishes at 11.30. Acts lined up include 'Peng - Motown tribute', Amanda Rosa with a collection of popular hits and songs from musicals, complimenting the fayre and Christopher Howard with his 'Tribute to the Musical's. Christopher has been Michael Ball's understudy on MajorWest End Productions.  Sunday is our ever growing Sunday Lunch, a 2/3 course Roast with a Fish and Vegetarian option.
Lunch is from 1 till 9PM and with the weather warming up , we expect our terrace to be a bust time. Booking is recommended. Again, we offer, to compliment your dining experience, Jens on the Baby Grand. We will be offering other forms of entertainment for Sunday Lunch, a Violinist playing Classical Music and a Harpist are just two options available to us.
As the 'season' draws nearer, we have plans to offer Wedsnesday's a Spanish Evening. (Last year this proved a big success.) This year we will be offering Spanish Fayre with a FLAMENCO SHOW.
Thursday's, we shall shortly be launching our PUB NIGHTS Theme. We have planned Monthly Quiz Nights with BBQ, HogRoasts, Fish and Chip Suppers and a good old fashioned Bangers and Mash night with Music (Roll out the Barrel!!)
On other night's Michael and Team will be offering fayre from our A La Carte Menu, with back round music (Chill Out music) from our 'in house' sound system. So if it's Good Food in a Most Tranquill and Magical Setting, come try us out.
