Just a quick e mail to say that you made our stay at the apartment a much more enjoyable experience, the service provided by you guys was top notch. Little Ethan enjoyed his high fives and you made it a lot easier for us coping with having an under 2 year old away on hols. It was nice to sit and relax with good food and great company from you both, it’s a shame we did not fully get to sample the new menu as it look absolutely delicious, there again maybe a good thing as I might have come back twice the weight!!

With the new arrival due in January we may not be out again so soon but once we book our next hols we will be heading back to Spain and hopefully back to Vista Del Mar to sample the great food and company again.

For anyone reading this, a must have is a nice cold pint of Guinness

I have to say that I am not a food-freak, gourmet or anything similar but I think I know a good restaurant when I see one and Restaurant Vista del Mar is most definitely a genuine pearl on this coast. It’s in Mijas Costa about 10 kms from Fuengirola centre …..and a million miles away! When I first went I was struck by the tranquil setting with its tremendous views over the Med.


I have now been perhaps a half dozen times and each time I have enjoyed the service, ambience and food. This is not a cheap and cheerful “All Day Breakfast @ 1,99 euro” but a restaurant run by professionals.

Nevertheless the prices are very reasonable and I have paid a lot more for a lot less (and worse!) It is definitely a place where you can go for a full evening, especially if it is one of the many evenings when they have (quality!) entertainment. Vegetarians are well catered for and there is a good wine list.

It is, to use their words, a special place for special people. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Reeds meer dan 15 jaar komen wij naar Playa Miraflores.
In de laatste 3 jaren hebben we het restaurant, de service en de
accommodatie alleen maar zien groeien.
Gastronomisch zijn jullie er zeer sterk op vooruit gegaan. Dit dankzij
jullie management en fantastische kok. Het eten is zelfs naar Belgische
normen superlekker en gevarieerd.
Zowel de "specal evenings" (met als aanrader steak evening op donderdag)
als de gewone middaglunch zijn super aangenaam en verzorgd. Het entertainment
met Gary maakt van het geheel een voltreffer.
Echte vlamingen zoals ons kunnen dan ook dagelijks weer genieten van
een goed glas bier op jullie mooie terras.
Alvast proficiat met jullie "staff", doe zo verder en bedankt voor de laatste
2 fantastische weken die we bij jullie mochten ervaren.

I just wanted to write to you personally to say a huge thank you for hosting my Sister’s wedding.  Apart from the beautiful setting, the atmosphere was fantastic and your hospitality went a long way towards this.  Jayne, your help in planning the wedding and dressing the room on the day was brilliant and you were so helpful in every way.  You were brilliant in playing the role of ‘Mistress of Ceremonies’ and kept everything moving and happening at the right time.  The pair of you are so friendly and accommodating which enhances the personal, hands on touch you offer.  As you know the wedding was a proper family affair and I can honestly say it felt like you were meant to be there.   So many people have commented on your hospitality and your friendliness whilst still providing an excellent and professional service.
 
Just wanted you both to know all of this and to let you know that in my opinion you are born to be in the hospitality industry.

So many times, I have been to an otherwise excellent restaurant only for the evening to be spoilt by something quite minor – lack of palillos, missing soap in the gents, not serving a popular fruit-juice etc. Believe me you will not be disappointed here.
 
 It is, to use their words, a special place for special people. Enjoy!

A very BIG THANK YOU to both you and the rest of the fantastic team at Vista del Mar. The 2 evenings that we spent with you in March 2009 were the best of our entire holiday. Keeping 23 Rock n Roll dancers happy was no mean feat! The food was absolutely amazing, on the first evening we had a Hog Roast and our second evening was the weekly Steak Night. We all had to be up dancing all night to work off our full tummies! The entertainment you organised for us on both evenings was superb and our friends loved Dave Lee & Gary Young equally. The entertainers performed all sorts of music to keep us dancing all night. I think we wore them out with our energy & enthusiasm! Organising a holiday for 23 people was a lot of work, but as you were always on hand to help answer questions by phone or email, we felt completely safe in your hands. We left Vista del Mar having made 2 new firm friends and believe me when I say you both made 23 new friends! Watch out Vista del Mar - we will be back!

Hi.
 We came in on Tuesday last to sample your pasta dishes on your first pasta night - my husband will be remembered for all time I think due to him consuming five - yes FIVE plates.
We can honestly say we haven't eaten so well ever before.
I - for my sins,  gave up after 3 and a half - but it was pure heaven and we will be back for sure.
It was a pity there were so few people out that night but then we wouldn't have had such personal service ( ! ) including a sticking plaster for my husbands cut head - don't ask.
We will surely be back upon our next visit to Spain and hope that next time more people will join us in enjoying a little bit of Italy in Spain.
The music really made the evening special too - pass on our thanks to the pianist fo all his hard work.

Thanks again for really great food, service and atmosphere.

Dear All.

On a professional level I would like to say how impressed I was with everything yesterday. The service was excellent, the staff were charming and the food, Michael, was superb. Prompting comments from our table on how 'it was probably the best bit of lamb we've eaten in Spain!!' The terrace looked fabulous and I have no doubt we gained many new clients. We have a reservation for 70 odd for September 20th for the Mijas Hash House Harriers end of summer ball. A very successful evening and I trust it was reflected in the take!!

On a personal level, I enjoyed the whole afternoon (as was probably evident by my somewhat inebriated attempt at dirty dancing!) And that is my point. Any operation I am involved in I remain relatively aloof from proceedings and in events such as this tend to worry more about its success or failure,rather than my personal enjoyment, that I never relax. It is a tribute to the atmosphere and the staff that enabled me to drop my formality, get pissed and have a thoroughly good time. There's not many places that I am pleased professionally and contented personally.

Turned up to discover it was steak night! Wasn't expecting this and were somewhat dubious about what we would be served. Was expecting slabs of overcooked, tasteless average meat when considering the number of covers and "all you can eat" offer. Considered leaving - so glad we didn't! Was amazed by the quality, preparation, presentation and most importantly the taste. It was utterly superb!!
 
We were so delighted to find such a friendly atmosphere in relaxed, stylish surroundings that we couldn't resist coming back the very next night. Luckily for us it was the dinner/dance night - fabulous fun, spectacular food, great entertainment on the piano by Jens and THE most welcoming team in the business. By the end of our first visit we already felt Dave and Jayne were like old friends - so friendly and made time to chat and get to know people - the sort of touches that leave a lasting impression. The chef combines creative recipies with the highest quality ingredients to ensure sublime flavours course after course.
 
Between the two nights our group consumed 22 dishes and could not fault any of them.
 
Loved the restaurant's look, food, entertainment and staff! if you get the chance - go - it really is the best restauarant in the Costa del Sol bar none.You won't be disappointed. Couldn't believe what we were getting for the money! On our second visit we were lucky enough to get to spend some time with Dave, Jayne, Micheal and Jens. Again we were overwhelmed by their open, generous nature, obvious love for good food and drink and their dream to run this beautiful restaurant. We wish you all the very very best. We're sure you'll do well - you really deserve it.

We all said that it was a pity we had not made use of the entertainment midweek - but I am sure we will make up for it next time.Unfortunately Saturday morning ws a bit of a wash out and with our flight not until 5.00 in the afternoon we made the best use of time looking at some other rental properties which "neighbours" owned. So if you get people coming saying Robin told me to come here - you know where it came from. - we've spread the word.It would seem there is still a big untapped market for you.
 
If you want some feedback - other than what I've said above - you have free licence - just a pity we never took any photos of the evening.
 
On a final note - some feedback on your website - TOP NOTCH !!
Really excellent - says it all - once again I only hope all your efforts bear fruit.

Following the strong recommendation of a local resident of Mijas Costa, we resolved to take his advice and dine at Vista Del Mar.

It is fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere overlooking a beautiful pool by the sea. The Chef is obviously very skilled and has very high standards. Our arrival was warm and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable given the quality on offer.

If its great food and wines at very reasonable prices, you will not be disappointed and we thoroughly recommend Vista Del Mar. You will be as delighted we were. The best food we have tasted on our weeks visit to Riviera.

Whilst on Honeymoon at Club La Riviera Da Sol, Nr Fuengeirola, my wife and I visited the Vista Del Mar Restaurant at Miraflores (Beach Side)

Dave, Jayne and the Team made us very welcome on our arrival. We sat down and took in the most beautiful views of the sea from the terrace whilst browsing the excellent Menu options.

My Wife Lisa ordered the Stuffed Peppers followed by Chicken with Mozzerella and Ham filling finished off with a home made Strawberry & Passion Fruit Cheesecake. I sat down to Pan Fried Black Pudding followed by Sirloin Steak Served on the best Potato Gratin ever tasted and finished off with White Chocolate Nemesis & Coconut Sorbet. All the desserts are home made and are very tasty.

We re-visited the Vista Del Mar a further two times during the week working through the Menu. Dave and Jayne were always happy to see us and always found time for a chat and a tasty Sangria!

A must for everyone to visit either whilst on holiday or people now living in Spain.

UKCalahonda Lions Change Over Night
On Saturday 16th June the Calahonda Lions gathered for their Change Over Dinner at the Vista del Mar Restaurant at Miraflores Playa.
The members and guests enjoyed a delicious dinner in the beautiful setting of the Vista del Mar Restaurant overlooking the pool and the sea.
The dinner served was a choice of Thai inspired food, which I can testify to being absolutely delicious, or a more traditional fayre of hake and chips, which I have on good authority, was also very nice.
Fortunately the rather strong winds that had prevailed during the day eased off and we were able to enjoy the calming and relaxing atmosphere out on the terrace.
A great big thank you go to Dave and Jayne and the rest of the staff for making our evening another enjoyable social event for the Calahonda Lions.

Have just been to see what all the leaflets and mijas Costa write ups where about, we found a tastefully decorated restaurant where we tried the lamb wrap and a steak sandwich , all in all it was the best lunch I have had , being just the right amount of food , cooked to a high standard leaving me full without the bloating feeling and a nice beer to wash it down , will call soon to see what the evenings have to offer , good to note it’s a wi-fi hotspot too, truly a modern restaurant ,

Hi Team, As promised we returned in October for another week of Sun Sea Sand and Vista Sangria, this time with our 4 year old Daugther Lucy.
 
Can i just say that once again you guys have excelled yourselves it was not only lovely to see you all but also great to sample the latest menu which Chris has done you guys proud with.
 
I settled down to the fishcakes followed by the Braised Lamb and where do i start, The fishcakes were perfectly cooked and served to perfection with the accompanying dressings it was a delight and made me eager to crack on with my Lamb, Which as ever was cooked to perfection and so tender it melted in the mouth, served with the nicest of accompaniments which went down a treat. Unfortunately i found it difficult at this point not to have a dessert and chose the Eaton Mess which was so good half way through i was stuffed but refused to leave such a excellent sweet so it was eaten and i was then completely stuffed but at the same time very impressed, so please pass on my thanks to Chris in the kitchen as i know Chefs tend to get forgotten about.
So if your reading this review then you must be considering giving the vista a shot, my advice to you is turn off your computer pick up the phone and make a booking as if there is anywhere else in the Costa better than the Vista i will eat my hat. Get down there and see Dave and Jayne for the best meal you WILL EVER have i assure you, you will not be disappointed.
So gang that just leaves me to say Thank you very much from all of us and keep up the good work. We will be back early next year and people keep an eye out for the next instalment of the reviews which i am convinced will be as good as ever.

The first thing that grabs your attention at Vista del Mar is the stylish interior and the wonderful view after which, of course, the restaurant is named. Sitting in the lounge bar with a glass of the fresh and crisp house white wine, picking at succulent and spicy olives was certainly not a hardship on a sunny Sunday evening. The bar, indoor dining room and the terrace dining area all share the panoramic views, giving diners a pleasant outlook across the swimming pool, landscaped gardens and out to the sea.The second thing to assail our senses was the gorgeous smells coming from the kitchen
